The New York Giants picked up a hard-fought victory Sunday, defeating the Tennessee Titans 12-7 at MetLife Stadium to improve to 2-1 on the season.
In their first game without starting quarterback Jaxson Dart, the Giants leaned on their defense and special teams to get the job done. New York struggled to find the end zone, but four field goals from rookie kicker Dominic Zvada and a clutch interception in the closing seconds proved to be enough.
Jameis Winston completed 12 of 18 passes for 117 yards and also used his legs when necessary, scrambling for a 15-yard first down.
The Giants’ offense struggled to generate touchdowns, but Zvada came through with four field goals to account for all 12 of New York’s points.
With only 14 seconds remaining, Titans quarterback Cam Wardattempted to find a receiver in the end zone. Giants safety Jevón Holland came up with the interception, ending Tennessee’s final scoring opportunity and securing the 12-7 victory.
The play capped off a strong defensive effort from New York, which held the Titans to just one touchdown.
